NEW ZEALAND SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
NZSO
Last week on Tuesday 23 of October my class Kōtare or Room 7 meet a animater(Someone who introduces the opera members to the crowd) from wellington named Chris he was coming to teach us and tell us about the the NZSO also known as the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and he was talking about us being composers. We had to make a piece of orchestra music about flight. There were four groups: Airplanes ,Helicopters,Birds, and Clouds.
Music and Games
before we started composing Music we listened to some Music that the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra made. I noticed as we were listening there was Music from Five nights at Freddy’s and Chris told us that the songs without, words in the minecraft movie were made by the NZSO.After Chris showed us Music we played a a game when we had to copy the sound some makes and pass it on as a pattern.
My Group The Clouds
In my Group we were playing Tambourines and Triangle instruments and in the cloud group we did the sound of light rain to a hailing then back light rain. The tambourines reminded me of Christmas songs. It was enjoyable Listening to the sounds both instruments made, sounds all merged together and it sounded perfect. We also found new noises from both instruments we played.
The other Groups
the Bird group was playing the Glockenspiels and Xylophones, Helicopter was playing the drums and Airplane was playing maraca and a few other instruments. The Helicopter group sounded quite then loud it was tiny little taps and scrapes bang and booms. Birds sounded like harmony and the Planes were so satisfying to listen too.
This was very fun to do I loved the noises all the instruments made and hopefully we would to it again and maybe find new sounds without instruments as well.
